Vikadakavi’s Vera Mari Bro under production!

Posted by on Oct 3, 2012 in News | 9 comments

PSYCHO.unit are at the brink of wrapping up “Vera Mari Bro”, their next big project since Sheezay’s Kambathu Rapper. VMB is the tag to look out for this coming Deepavali, which falls on the November 13th, as the release has been planned to be taking place during that festive season.

VMB would be packing a very different PSYCHO.unit flavour, moving away from the usual wacky-all-the-way theme, instead concentrating on a more lyrically powerful album, the main strength of Vikadakavi. New genres have been infused into the album to further to enhance the quality of the package, which includes a rave electro house track lined up as well.

The usual line up of Rabbit Mac, Daddy Shaq, Crime Minista, Candyman, Sheezay, Rubba Bend and Bugz, PSYCHO.unit’s 7 other label artistes, have been included in the album, with the stunner this time being Rubba Bend, who has lended her vocals dominantly in one of the tracks in Vera Mari Bro.

“Vera Mari Bro is my medium, my way of sharing my experiences throughout my life, through the best known language to man; music. I’m implementing something new this time, because my I believe my fans deserve the best, and for the fans, we always do the best,” Vikadakavi quoted.

“From Attam 100 Vagai, to Iyarkai Thedi, and now Vera Mari Bro, this is a totally new experience for me. As a PSYCHO.unit artiste, I feel blessed to have the constant support of my fellow label mates, as they contribute many ideas when it comes to conceptualization and creative direction of the album. Being a recording artiste is indeed tough, yet manageable because of the right group of co-workers who are contributing to the production of the album,” he added.

In acordance to the release of the album, PSYCHO.unit is also focusing on forming few movements, for every artiste on the record label. These movements would concentrate on each artiste individually, and each movement would consist of die -hard FANtastics of the respective movement. The kickstart would be with Vikadakavi’s very own movement, called the #TeamVMB, in which he would work closely with for a few causes which are yet to be revealed. “I’m currently developing the structure of the movement, and once everything has been properly organized, I would launch #TeamVMB. But one thing is for sure, it would not be your average movement, it would be something more than that,” he was quoted as saying.

Production of Vera Mari Bro is close to completion, and we can expect much news to be leaking soon as the release date closes in. Stay tuned.

“State 9 : Kambathu Rapper” release date confirmed

Posted by on Dec 3, 2011 in News | 64 comments

Come 7th February 2012, PSYCHO.unit has confirmed that Sheezay’s “State 9 : Kambathu Rapper”, or “KR” as we affectionately call it, would be released nationwide in the midst of the Thaipusam fever of that month, simultaneously in a few states around the Peninsula.

In an unofficial statement, the marketing division of PSYCHO.unit stated that Thaipusam would be the ideal time to release the album, as they can make more first week sales during the period of the festival.

The first single taken off “KR”, “Ghetto Disco (Kambathu Disco)” has received much positive feedback after being released earlier this year in the hit compilation album, “Rabbit & Friendz”, and has been performed on stage by Sheezay in numerous shows around Malaysia.

The second single, “Rockaboy”, which is to be released soon, was first unveiled at the PSYCHO.unit’s “Lepak Tour” in Kuala Lumpur just a few months ago.

“I am all excited to release the album as KR is my dream project. I am giving something totally new this time around,” says Sheezay.

“We have massive plans for the album. I seriously would love to credit my fans who have been posting me motivational messages to my mail as well as to my Facebook and Twitter profiles,” he adds on.

Among those who would be featured in the album are the PSYCHO.unit superstars (including their latest addition Rubba.Bend), MC Syze of A.U.B, and a lot more.

Spread the word. Stay tuned.

Rubba.Bend begins recording

Posted by on Nov 29, 2011 in News | 21 comments

Rubba.Bend, PSYCHO.unit’s first homegrown female act, has now begun recording for both mixtape and commercial tracks, which are to be released under the label.

She is featuring in Sheezay’s “State 9 : Kambathu Rapper (KR)” album, for a track, as well as PSYCHO.unit’s “Gila Miya Mixtape”. Both projects are to be launched in 2012, the earlier one being KR.

“I think its a good idea to feature her in the album as it gives her the break she deserves. It gives her the opportunity to experiment and innovate her style, set a benchmark, and create her own following,” says Rabbit.mac.

“Sooner or later she has to go mainstream. I think its time she did just that,” he adds on.

Sheezay’s “State 9 : Kambathu Rapper” in progress

Posted by on Nov 27, 2011 in News, Sheezay | 134 comments

Sheezay is all good to go headstrong.

PSYCHO.unit Rockaboy, Sheezay is currently working on his first solo album, titled “State 9 : Kambathu Rapper”. The album is tentatively set to be released during Thaipusam 2012 (February).

Sheezay is all good to go headstrong into making this album a success. The album features PSYCHO.unit’s very own superstars, with surprise line-ups included as well.

“This album has been my personal ambition from day one, as I would like to prove that even a kambathu (village) boy can make it, if the hard work and dedication is delivered.” says Sheezay. “Me and my unit sat down, composed the framework of the album, and now its time for me to map out and start penning out each song.”

“Kambathu Rapper (KR) is going to be a wholesome affair, with much to give. As I love my fans very much, i strive to provide the best I can as a token of appreciation towards them. To give them what they deserve is my mission for KR.”

“If you want to pursue your dreams, go for it. Don’t stop for no valid reason, because you don’t want to look back at your life one day and say, you missed the opportunity while it sat at your front door. KR is my (that) dream project, which i am putting my heart, soul, and sleepless nights into,” quoted Sheezay.

In-line with Sheezay’s statement, Rabbit.mac said, “I’m sure our fans will love KR, and I have a strong feeling that each and every one of them would get the original copy.”

As a present for our loyal fans, we’ve decided to release Sheezay’s second single taken off the album, titled ‘Rockaboy’, very soon.
